Just a reminder that our club is sponsoring the event " Women's Day at the Range " on Saturday May 18th starting @ 9am and the gun range will be closed to enable us to put on this event. It will only be for a few hours, and the range will be open to all members again for sure by Sat. evening.

Stillwater Rifle and Pistol Club Rifle Steel Match

We will be holding a rifle match at the Stillwater Rifle Club range on Saturday, May 12th at 9am. The match will consist of engaging steel pepper poppers (up to 200 yds away) with a centerfire rifle (needless to say, no armor piercing ammunition). The target must fall to count. The stages will be timed so the fastest overall time will win. There will be 2 categories: optical sights and iron sights. The target count will be no more than 15, so be sure to bring at least that many shells. More perhaps if you think you might miss at some point. Eye and ear protection will be required. The cost to play will be $10. If you have any questions, give Charles Bradley a call at 377-4846.

Stillwater Rifle and Pistol Club Work Day at the Range

We will have a "Work Day at the Range" this Saturday, March 17th starting at 10 am to about 1 pm. We are going to work on cleaning up the 500 yards berm, trim back some of the trees going to the 500 yd berm, raking to smooth out new gravel on all of the berms and general clean up. This does mean the long and pistol range will be closed for shooting during those hours. You may shoot before and afterwards those hours. All that can come help, we would appreciate it. If you have a rake, Ex-large trash bags, large prumers for evergreens and maybe a shovel wouldn't hurt with some paint buckets to spread gravel would be a help to have. This is your range. It is maintain by its members. Join us and help to make it a nice range to be at.

Stillwater Rifle and Pistol Club Gate Lock Combo

The gate locks' combination will be changing this Saturday, March 2, 2012. Those that did not renew will not have new membership card and will not have the new combination to get it. Remember, Members of the SR & PC are to have their membership card with them while at the range and the new combination is on the membership card, so do not be calling any director or officer to get the combination. They will not be giving it out by phone. (Yes, you will have to drive home and get your card!) If you have sent in your renewal fees and have not received your new card, you need to contact the club Secretary immediately!

Annual Banquet

The Annual Banquet and election of the Officer/Executive committee member meeting of the SR & PC will be on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012 at 6pm at the Stillwater Community Center at Duck and 9th Street. (Same place we have had it the last few years.) Remember to bring plates, cups and silverware for you and your family. Also, bring a side dish to share with other members and the club will provide the wonderful Bar-B- Que Brisket and drink again.

Emergency work day

to all gun club members,

there will be an emergency work day for the gun range on Saturday, Aug. 20th @ 9am, due to the recent storms the range has received a lot of damage.

there is damage to the covered shooting area on the rifle range, some tree limbs are down, trash is scattered, all kinds of stuff has been blown into the trees and we lost one of our cedar trees. please come out & help if you are available.

we will need chain saws, rakes, trash bags, and mostly we will need bodies to help clean up all of the mess! don't forget your gloves and water jug!

Semi-Annual Club Meeting and .22 Fun Match

Hi, SR&PC members!

We will hold a club .22 fun match Saturday, July 30th, starting about 9:15am at the range. This will be a "man-on-man" format contest. Bring your semi-auto/pump .22 rifle and a box or two of ammo. Any .22 rimfire rifle that will hold about 10 rounds will work! It will probably be warm (more likely HOTTER than heck!), so bring some cold water, put on your hat, your suntan lotion and come have some fun!!! Charles Bradley will be our Match Director for this competition.
Following the match, about 12:30, we will hold our semi-annual club meeting there at the range. If you have any ideas for the club or ways we can improve the range this will be a great time to bring it to the attention of the club officers and executive committee.

Executive Board Meeting

The year is going along quickly it seems. It is already time for another Executive Board meeting this coming Tuesday, May 10th at 7 pm at the Houck agency. There has been alot of work done at the range and plans for more are in the mill. Lets have reports ready to be presented.

I will be out of pocket starting Friday morning until Monday evening. Going to the Texas State Black Powder Cartridge match in Mexia, TX. You can leave me a message on my cell phone if you have an item to be added to the meeting. You can also contact Darrel Clark and talk with him.

All members are welcome to attend all of the executive committee meetings.

Action Steel Pistol Match

Dear Fellow SR & PC members,

There will be an Action Steel Pistol Match this month at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 21st at the Cowboy Action part of the shooting range. Join us for a bit of fast and furious steel shooting!!!!

Firearms: Bring your revolvers and semiautos pistols, holsters, ammo and speedloaders.

Safety equipment: Eye and ear protection will be required.

Shooting Fee: The cost of the match will be $5.

Gun range work day

I know this is short notice but if any of you can come out tomorrow, April 16th, we will be working out at the gun range starting @ 10am, we will be trenching the ditch for the electric line, and working at the shotgun range. If you can make it out to help, that would be great. be sure to bring your gloves, shovels, rakes & water jugs. hope to see all of you there!
